So, as I attempt yet again to confuse poor Robert even further develop a plot and continue Robert's integration into the household, I find myself wondering--what are the usual living/sleeping arrangements for body slaves? Do they have a small room off the Master/Mistress' bedroom for their own, or elsewhere in the house, or do they routinely sleep in bed with their owners? Do they in fact have any private space of their own, or are they considered property or extensions of their owners, and thus are assumed to occupy their owner's personal space? Or is it all dependent on the Master or Mistress' whim?

I have a plan of my own, but I'd love to hear the community's opinions!

I think it varies depending on the owners' preference/whim and the size of the household. For the Neals, their house was built with the assumption that there would be slaves, so the master suite had two rooms off of it that were intended for the body slaves to sleep in and allow Master and Mistress some privacy. However, there was no expectation that the space "belonged" to the slaves, and their owners could go in at any time.

I'd sort of figured that Joe didn't have his own room when he was with Robert, and that they shared a bed, but if that doesn't work for you, then they didn't.

I think it would depend on the Master. Probably, there would be a small room off the main bedroom for the slave to keep their stuff in at a minimum. In this case, would Robert and Mia be expected to share the space? Awkward. Do Mia and Jennifer have a sexual relationship? A foursome is really hard to manage. I would imagine that an unmarried Master would sleep with his slave or have a trundle bed or something in the same room for easy access. I don't think privacy is at all a concern in this society as slaves are like pets or furniture.

Well, historically bodyservants, maidservants, and so on were often housed in very small (think closet) rooms that were adjacent to their master's room. There would often be a door between the two rooms as well as hall doors for both. Other sorts of servants and slaves, even house servants/slaves, would likely be housed in the attic or some other unpleasant corner of the house if they even had an official room (rather than the cook and scullion sleeping in the kitchen, for example), but the personal servants needed to be handier.

In the USA, some older houses from during servant/slave days still have this architecture. Back staircases too. The entire architecture revolved around the fact that there were servants.

In this universe, I would think that it's a combination of the master/mistress' personality and habits and their living quarters. Not all slave owners are so independently wealthy they can afford to have their houses torn down and rebuilt to be just so and it seems like not a few live in apartments or other small spaces.

If the bodyslave did have their own room, it would definitely depend on the master whether they could count on any privacy in there for actions or items (eg. keeping a journal or pretty rocks or whatever).

I did notice that with bodyslaves of the rich, a large wardrobe is required, which of course takes space in and of itself, along with other items they use to keep themselves pretty and sexy (the buttplug collection has to go somewhere.)

As to where bodyslaves usually sleep, it seems like they double as breathing teddy bears and rarely will a master go to bed without one to cuddle up to. This is probably very handy when they decide to cut costs during the winter by dropping the thermostat a few degrees. I really do wonder what this has done/says about the mental status of the slave owners though, always needing to cuddle up to someone to sleep. From our perspective, it looks childish.

I concur; I think it depends from owner to owner. Primarily, Jensen's been owned by owners that kept him claustrophobically close and being sent elsewhere to sleep was a sign of disfavor or that his owner was otherwise occupied. Cruise and Kidman, while married, maintained separate bedrooms and more often slept with their slaves than each other.

Jeff, on the other hand, routinely provides his slaves with their own room and encourages them to think of it as theirs.
